The aim of this course is provide fitness professionals with a basic understanding of nutrition principles and the knowledge on how to utilise these principles while staying within their scope of practise.

Learning Objectives

  • Clearly know what Personal Trainers can and can’t do within the current Scope and Practice as it relates to nutrition and diet.
  • Understand the basic principles of energy expenditure
  • Understand the broad diet categories and some common diet options
  • Become aware of possible signs of disordered eating
  • Know when and where to refer clients for various dietary reasons

Prerequisite:

To achieve REPs Ireland CPD points, REPs Ireland members must have a minimum EQF L4 Personal Trainer qualification.
