What is the STA?

As practicing Sports Therapists, working in an increasingly challenging political climate, the Sports Therapy Association (STA) identified the need for a new, dynamic, forward thinking and proactive professional association – a body that could voice the opinions of practitioners and lobby for positive change, crucially without the bias associated with direct links to training providers.

The STA has set a new gold standard in professional representation for sports therapists, sports injury therapists and soft tissue therapists across the United Kingdom, and have worked passionately to develop a truly independent and ethical association that is committed to raising standards across the industry and progressing opportunities for their members.

How do I become a member?

Entry to the association is by qualification depending on the level of membership chosen:

  • Affiliate: minimum Level 3 and first aid
  • Full membership: minimum Level 4 and first aid
  • Graduate member: minimum FdSc, BSc or Msc and first aid

You can also join as a student by providing details of the college or university course you are studying with. Student membership is £24+VAT per annum, all others £48+VAT.
