By the end of the course participants will have increased knowledge and confidence when training pregnant / post natal women while staying within their scope of practice as a Fitness Professional.
Learning Objectives
- Know the scope of practice of a Fitness Professional
- Have a basic understanding of the changes that occur in the body during and after pregnancy
- Have a basic understanding of exercise considerations when training pregnant / post natal women
- Have a basic understanding of how and when to program running in pregnant / post natal women
- Have a basic understanding of how and when to program resistance training in pregnant / post natal women
- Have a basic understanding of the pelvic floor
- Have a basic understanding on how to run a successful business training mainly mums
- Have a basic understanding of the role of women’s health / pelvic health physio
Prerequisite:
To achieve REPs Ireland CPD points, REPs Ireland members must have a minimum EQF L3 Fitness Instructor. qualification. For non-REPs Ireland members, assumed knowledge is that the participant has completed either a group fitness instructor, gym floor instructor or personal trainer qualification.
