The aim of the course is to provide you with an insight into the importance of water, the health benefits of it, how to identify dehydration and the best sources for adequate hydration before, during and after exercise. The learning outcomes of this course are:

  • Understand the science behind water and how it is made up
  • Understand the health benefits of adequate hydration
  • Understand the risk factors for dehydration
  • Understand how we must alter our approach to hydration with different populations
  • Understand the benefits and risks to different sports drinks

Prerequisite:

Level 2 Gym (REPs UK) or Level 3 EQF (REPs Ireland) Fitness Instructor

Assessment:

Informal, non invigilated online timed multiple-choice exam
